Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

Always having been active, I was intrigued by this style of workout, which was new to me, but seemed somewhat similar to a lot of the sports conditioning things I’d done. I felt it was a good time to get involved after having my son, and knew it would be a challenge. I needed a challenge and one that would help me lose my baby weight and gain the strength and endurance I would need for the years of motherhood ahead of me.

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?

It is quite an experience to watch women of all different ages, shapes/sizes, backgrounds, and fitness levels come together to battle The Grind. While everyone is dealing with their own personal battles, it's nice that we have each other to battle the daily Grind together. From my first workout involving bar complexes with split jerks to my continued workouts weekly it has been a challenge. It's always a work in progress and will continue to be that. The inspiration, dedication, and encouragement makes my daily obstacles easier and lifts my spirits. We are all here for one purpose: to better ourselves and support each other while at it.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

Before coming to FGF, being a part of a two year collegiate volleyball team that went to the national tournament was at the top of my list. At FGF, it’s been stepping out of my comfort zone compete in the Moxie Games [tomorrow!].

What are your next health and fitness goals?

My Be Present goal is to continue eating clean, and to work on my overall endurance.

Favorite exercise at FGF is:

I enjoy squats because they are easier for me than many other things.

Least favorite exercise at FGF is:

T2B or burpees

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

Just keep moving (thanks Jeni) or don't make a career out of it (thanks Brandy) along with some other not so polite things.

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

The challenge and continued progress. Always something new, always something to work on, always an accomplishment!

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

Once I get thru The Grind (I usually attend in the AM), it makes me stronger mentally and physically for the rest of my daily activities. Emotionally I am much more level headed. I am just a better person to be around, and I get better rest at night.

Who/what inspires you to be fit?

My son. I want to set a good example, and be strong and sustain a healthy life for him. I need to be able to run with him for many years to come!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

I am usually running around with my toddler. I also take care of the house and do the typical mom stuff. I take time to learn something new daily, bake, scrapbook, and hang out with family and friends as much as possible.

My happy place is:

Outdoors, usually with family and friends, aaaaand a glass of wine!

You might not know this about me:

I played volleyball at North Idaho College

Guilty pleasure:

Red wine, and bread with oil/vinegar.

I’m proud…

Of my amazing family and the life that we have worked so hard to achieve.

Team I’m always rooting for:

Pittsburgh Steelers and Gonzaga Bulldogs. I also like to root for the underdog.

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

It's always important to rise to the challenge, have fun and keep smiling thru it. Also, working out daily is the best "you" time, and is so important for sustained health. Don't compare yourself to others. Listen to your body. To the current members. Thanks for your support and helping me along the way!
